Mr and Mrs Beebc of Waimana are holidaying at Oliope. Mr and Mrs McDonald of Te Teko 9 are at Ohope Beach. Mr C. S. Armstrong and family; of McAlister Street, are spending the holidays at Lake Rotoiti.* Mr and Mrs L. F. Kerr of New Plymouth are on holiday at Ohope Beach. Mr and Mrs J. Middleton of Te Aroha were guests at the Ohope motor camp last week. Mr J. K. Lee, of Whakatane, is in Auckland and staying at the Ro3*al Hotel.

Mr and Mrs D. V. Saunders and family are enjoying a holiday at Waihi.

Mr and Mrs R. S. Q. Agar, Wellington, were recent tt> Ohope Beach.

Mrs L. Woods and daitghter of Hamilton are the guests of Mr and Mrs G. N. Chamberlain of Merrit Street. Whakatane.

Mr and Mrs D. Wilkes of South. Canterbury are camping at Ohope Beach in the course of a North Island tour.

Mr Garth Morgan, who had been staying with his parents, Mr and Mrs T. Morgan, of Clifton Street, has returned to Wellington.

Mr and Mrs H. J. Badcock, of Mt. Eden, and Mr and Mrs L. Dickie, also of Mt. Eden, are at. the Whakatane Hotel.

Mrs T. Mitchell of Taneatua is spending the holidays with her daughter, Mrs Birdsall, at Warkworth, North Auckland.

Mrs Winstone of Devonport and Mrs Morrison, of Auckland, together with the Misses Hartley, of Tauranga, are at Ohope Beach.

Mr and Mrs F. J. Gartshore have returned home from an Auckland trip which included the Christmas and New Year.

Mr W. Mitchell, of the Public Works Department staff, Auckland, and a party oi" P.W.D. officials spent Thursday and Friday in Whakatane on their way down the coast

An interested visitor -to Oliope Beach is Mr J. Cotter M.L.C. who prophesies a great future for the beach and the settlement which is fast growing there.

C.hristchurch visitors now enjoying the holidays at the beach include Mr and Mrs Taylor, Mr T. Ramsay, Mr and Mrs Sloan, and Mr and Mrs Beynon.

Constable and Mrs T. J. Cummings and family returned to Whakatane on Wednesday after spending some time in Auckland. It is their intention to visit the Centennial Exhibition shortly.

The many friends of Sir Apirana Ngata will regret to hear that", although he was present at Maketu serious illness prevented him taking any part in the Centennial celebrations.

The Mayor of Hamilton, Mr J. Caro, and Mrs Caro recently left the Oliope motor camp after spending the Christmas and New Year holidays in what they described as ideal surroundings.

Dr C. Mules (Dargaville), Mrs: Blackburn ("Poverty Bay), Miss M. Mules (Woodville) and Mr H. Jolly (Auckland) were visitors last week at Ohope Beach. While there they were the guests of Miss M. WMteside. Dr Mules goes into camp-sftnrt ly with the second echelon. '

The Hon H. R. Mason, At-torney-General and Minister of Justice, with Mrs Mason and party* left on Friday morning in continuation of his journey South. It was the Minister's intention to inspect the Paper Mills before proceeding* via Opotiki, to the East Cape.
