Mr Garth Morgan, who had been staying with his parents, Mr and Mrs T. Morgan, of Clifton Street, has returned to Wellington.

Constable and Mrs T. J. Cummings and family returned to Whakatane on Wednesday after spending some time in Auckland. It is their intention to visit the Centennial Exhibition shortly.

The many friends of Sir Apirana Ngata will regret to hear that", although he was present at Maketu serious illness prevented him taking any part in the Centennial celebrations.

The Mayor of Hamilton, Mr J. Caro, and Mrs Caro recently left the Oliope motor camp after spending the Christmas and New Year holidays in what they described as ideal surroundings.

Dr C. Mules (Dargaville), Mrs: Blackburn ("Poverty Bay), Miss M. Mules (Woodville) and Mr H. Jolly (Auckland) were visitors last week at Ohope Beach. While there they were the guests of Miss M. WMteside. Dr Mules goes into camp-sftnrt ly with the second echelon. '

The Hon H. R. Mason, At-torney-General and Minister of Justice, with Mrs Mason and party* left on Friday morning in continuation of his journey South. It was the Minister's intention to inspect the Paper Mills before proceeding* via Opotiki, to the East Cape.
