WEDDING BELLS
ALLAN—ALLEN
Knox Church Avas the scene of a very pretty wedding on Saturday evening last, when Ethel Mary, third' daughter of Mr Alex Allan, of Allandale, Avas married to Mr Gordon Allen of Dar^aville. The Rev. Keith Watson performed the ceremony, while. Mrs Allan Stewart presided at tlie organ. The bride Avas attended by Mrs H. Armstrong as Matron of Honour Avliile Mr Bruce Smithson acted as best man. Following the ceremony, the guests assembled at "Allandale" where they avcre received by Mrs Allan Sn. and Mrs J. B. Thomas, sister of the bride. The Rev.-Watson made an excellent toastmaster and joined in wishing the neAvlyweds all future happiness and prosperity. Mr C, H. Brebner in proposing the health of the bride and groom Avished them the best of luck from their Whaka?tane friends. The toast to the bride's parents was in the able hands of Mr F. .T„ Reynolds who referred also to the absent members of the family Mesdames D. C. Webster (Timaru) and R. Robertson of India. The health of the bridegroom's parents Avas | also honoured'.
EDGECOMBE- SKUDDER A quiet wedding of local Interest was recently solemnised at St. George's Anglican Church. Whakatanc, when Cassie, second daughter of Mr and Mrs A. H. Skudder, of Thames, was married to Jack, only son of Mrs H. J. Smart and the late Mr Bruce Edgecombe, of Havelocic North, Hawke's Bay. The bride, who was given away by Mr B. Fenn of Tauranga, wore a model frock of teal green sheer, with matching hat and accessories. A sheaf of goMen arum lilies was carried, to complete the ensemble. Her sister, Miss E. Skudder, of Tauranga, who attended her as bridesmaid, chose a suit of dusky pink, crepe with quilted trimmings and navy accessories, and a bouquet of pink roses was carried. The bridal couple left by car later for a tour of the North Island before returning to "Wellington where the bridegroom rejoins the military force leaving for overseas.
