MEMBER OF TWO MAIN BODIES
MAJOR FRANK PRIDEAUX
There Avill be feAV military men in NeAv Zealand Avho Avill be able to claim membership of the Main Bodies from this country to fight in the last and the present AA-ar. Such is the record of Major F. Prideaux aa'lio leaves with the tirst Echelon as Paymaster to the NeAV Zealand Forces overseas.
In 1911 Major Prideaux joined the Wellington regiment with the rank of Sergeant. At Gallipoli he was mentioned in despatches. Following that 'stunt' he was promoted to Sergeant Major, and transferred to the Paymaster's Corps in Egypt. In 1916 he obtained his commission as Lieu tenant and in September of the same year Avas promoted Captain. In 1917 lie Avas made Auditor to the Ncav Zealand Forces Avith the rank of Major.
He returned to NeAV Zealand on Xmas Day 1919 and settled in Whakatane, A\ r here he resumed territorial AA T ork Avith the Hauraki Regiment. In 1928 he succeeded Sir Stephen Allen as commanding officer, Avith the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After six years in this capacity he Avas posted to the Reserve. His call to the colours in the present Avar came at A T ery short notice and lie Avas put to some inconvenience to adjust his affairs. As a citizen he has taken a keen interest -in public affairs, being a member of the Borough Council and associating himself Avith all movements for the betterment of the toAvn. His many friends in Whakatane Avill join in Avishing him li ck and a safe return.
