POST OFFICE THEFT

MONEY AND BOOKS STOLEN INTERFERENCE WITH STORE • The Paengaroa Post Office which xj adjoins the premises of the ers' Trading Company, was broken into between the hours of 5.30 p.m and 8 a.m. and the safe with its contents were taken by the intruders. The amount of notes and silver contained in the safe amounted to approximately £4, but postal notes, money-order pad and stamps and pensions book, also kept in the safe y are missing. It is also reported that the benzine pump in front of the Farmers* Trading Company at Paengaroa had been tampered with, and two padlocks wrenched from the pump, although it is. understood that no petrol was taken. Force was used on both door and the windows to effect the entry.
