UNSEASONABLE RAIN
BREAK IN HOLIDAYS , i HARVESTING HELD UP Though the Bay of Plenty experienced only a mikl fall compared with the rain which fell In other parts of the North Island, it was nevertheless discomforting to hundreds of visitors who had camped at Oliope Beach, while those farmers who were unfortunate enough to have their hay out were also loud in their protests. Reports from the country however are reassuring in the main, and the rain, little more than an inch in all, has done more good than harm by the refreshment it has given to the pastures. A midseason fall, said a Waimana farmer who visited the town yesterday, providing it is not too heavy can do all the good in the world towards building up production.
