SCHOOL PICNIC

NUKUHOU NORTH EVENT

(Bcacon Correspondent) * The Nukuhou North School pupils and parents spent a most enjoyable school breaking-up last Friday. The function took the form of a vchool picnic and presentation of prizes and gifts. The picnic was held on Mr Doran's farm, and a hearty vote of thanks for his kindness was passed to him All enjoyed a tasty luncheon and dainty afternoon tea, and plenty of icc cream. Races and games were the order of the day. During the afternoon adjournment, the school master presented the tiny tots witli toys and the school children with lovely books.

Mr N. Macdonald, Chairman of the School Committee, then expressed their regret at the loss of the school master, Mr Ball-Guymcr, who is leaving the district. Although he had only been at the school a short time, he had won the alfec- ~ tion of all the pupils. Mr Macdonald wished him every success in the future. Mr Ball-Gitymev thanked the chairman lor his kind remarks and said he and Mrs Ball-Guymer had. enjoyed their stay at Nukuhou very much and would take with them very pleasant memories of their time at Nukuhou.
