LYCEUM CLUB
OPEN EVENING
PRESENTATION MADE
To wind up the activities of the
Lyceum Club for the year, a most enjoyable evening was held on Thurs day night last in the lounge of the Wh*katane Hotel when flag bridge was played. The cool lounge decorated with bowls of hydrangeas and roses made a very charming background for the evening frocks of the
ladies. At the winning table sat Mrs E. Armstrong and the Misses N. and D. Harding.
Before supper was served a presentation was made to Miss M. Dell on
the occasion of her approaching mar riage. Mrs D. Pearse spoke of her work as the energetic secretary of the Drama Circle and wished her all happiness.
Reference Avas also made to Miss Sloane's approaching marriage and departure from "Whakatane and the club's best wishes were passed on to her. Mrs Hayter was thanked for the use of the lounge and her great hospitality. This was carried witlr. acclamation. Coffee and a delicious supper were served after the bridge was finished.
