PUBLIC NOTICES DECLARATION OF RESULT OF POLL I, Brian Sweeney Barry, Mayor of the Borough of Whakatane, hereby declare that a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Whakatane was taken on Wednesday, December 13, 1939, upon a proposal to borrow the sum of Seven thousand live hundred pounds. The purpose fo r which the* loan is required is the supplying and distributing of electrical energy for the benefit of the Electricity Supply area comprising the Borough of W ha katane and for such purpose to do all or any of such matters and tilings which the Council is empowered to do by the Municipal Corporations Act 1933 and its amendments and the Public Works Act 1928 and its amendments and in particular and without limiting in any way an} r of the aforesaid powers, to provide, erect and construct additions and extensions to the present system of electricity distribution and reticulation, to purchase plant, land, easements and general equipment. The result of the polling on the above proposal was as follows: — Votes cast for the proposal 71 Votes cast against the proposal 4 I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.
