NEW ZEALAND ROMNEY
POPULARITY INCREASING That the popularity of the New Zealand type Romney is steadily increasing, is borne out by the enquiries received in every Australian mail by Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd. A sale just finalised is that of 1 sixty stud two-tooth ewes from the well-known "Karere" flock of Messrs Voss Bros. These sheep are destined for the foundation stud of pure New Zealand sheep in South Australia v In 1936 during the visit of a party of South Australians, Messrs Voss Bros, were persuaded to sell fifty 2tooths to a member of the .party, Mr A. Koch. Ewes from this, consignment took championships at the Adelaide Royal for the next three years and had a decided effect on the demand for the modern type Romney. Mr Koch has now decided to extend his stud and has placed this commission with the Stud Stock Department ">f "Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd. to secure him sixty ewes of similar type to the first consignment.
