KNOX DEFEAT METHODIST Playing on the Knox Presbyterian courts on Saturday, the home teams defeated the Methodist teams by 1(5 matches to 8. The conditions lor play were good but rain threatened at about half-past three. On behalf of the visiting team, Rev. C. Lucas thanked the Presbyterian Club for their hospitality. Mr Eggers replied for Knox. Results of the games played, Knox games being mentioned first. Men's Singles: E. Wilson lost to F. Darvill 5-6, H. Armstrong beat McKenzie 6-1, Martin lost to Lucas 4-6, Young beat Shaw 6-4, Searing beat Lichtwark 6-0, Riddell beat Franklin 6-2. TAURANGA DEFEATS RANGITAIKI The Dunlop Shield match played at Edgeciunbe resulted in a win for Tauranga by 7 niatchcs to 3, rain intervening before the final games were completed.
