SEVERELY SCALDED
OHOPE WOMAN'S ACCIDENT
FAINTED NEAR STOVE
Extensive scalds were suffered by Mrs K. S. Walldyke of Ohope Beach last Saturday morning, when a kettle of boiling water spilt its contents over her body, legs and arms.
Mrs Wall dyke, it is understood
was standing near the stove when she fainted, and in falling grasped the kettle thereby upsetting it over herself. Fortunately neighbours were in the vicinity and no time was lost in conveying the injured "woman to the Whakatane Hospital where she received immediate treatment.
Enquiries this morning elicited the information that she is making satisfactory. progress, though her condition is fairly serious.
