Some of Mark Twain's most lovable characters—"Tom Sawyer," "Huckleberry Finn," "Jeff Rutledge" "Aunt Sally," "Uncle Silas," "Sheriff Slocum" and a dozen others—live
again on the screen in the new Paramount comedv-drama, "Tom Sawyer, Detective." Based on the immortal Twain novel, "Tom Sawyer, Detectice," deals with the effects of 'Tom' and 'Huck' to save "Uncle Silas" from being hanged for a murder he did not commit and their singlehanded round-up of two Mississippi River sharpers. Two of Paramount's bov actors, Billy Cook and Donald O'Connor, are cast as 'Tom' and 'Husk' respectively, while some of the famous grown-up characters of the story are played by Phillip Warren, Janet Waldo, Elisabeth Risdon. and Porter Hall.

William George Hayes and Russell Hayden, cast as the familiar "Hopalong Cassidy" "Windy Halliday" and "Lucky Jenkins" respectively, head the cast of Paramount'!? "The Frontiersmen," brand-new Cassidy thriller, from the pen of Clarence E. Mulford. "The Frontiersmen" will show the struggle of "Hopalong" and his fellow ranchers to keep the kids of the cattle country on the straight-and-narrow by preventing a crooked mayor from using the school as a shield for his cattlerustling activities. Romance enters the situation and proceeds to cause a little war of its own when the teacher hired by Hoppy to clean up the school turns out to be the most beautiful girl ever to arrive in the cattle country. Lovely Evelyn Yenable is cast in this role.

One hundred and fifty years ago, Madame Vigee Lebrun designed the gowns worn to-day by Norma ( Shearer One hundred and fifty years ago, this famous woman artist sat in the elaborate Palace of Versailles paint-V ing portraits of Marie Antoinette, while the two of them joined in singing of duets. / . Eight of these paintings have down as the only authentic record of exactly what the French Queen wore. While many of the art worjks showing the Queen seated failed to give sufficient skirt detail for actanl . reproduction, enough suggestion was evident to serve as valuable material. The bodices and necklines shown in great detail, were faithfully produced.
