THE CENTENNIAL CAMP
TRAINING OLDER GIRLS
At an emergency meeting; of the committee of the N.Z. Guide Centennial Camp, which was held recently in Wellington, it was unanimously agreed that in view of tha present state of national emergency, the camp should be primarily a train ing camp for young : Guiders, Rangers, and older Guides rather th»n a holiday camp for Guides.
Also those attending camp must he 16 years or over, and have had at least a experience under canvas GttidX earap. The most that orfn be accepted for this training camp is 120. The camp will be run in four groups of approximately thirty. It is proposed to hold special train ing sessions in motor repair work, tuition generously being given by the Automobile Association; as wjell as the trsual Guide activities—out- „ of-door cooking, hygiene and sanitation, and instruction in physical,''fitness. The camp will be staffed entirely by licensed Guide .campers, and willbe run in the same manner as any other Guide camp. Those attending will sleep under canvas, and will be issued with the usual kit list. The camp will take place at Tauherinikau racecourse from January 16 to 27, 1940.
