Mr John Wineti, who was admitted to the Whakatane District Hospital on November 1; suffering from serious injuries as the result of an explosion of detonators on his farm at Paroa, is progressing satisfactorily. Constable Prater, of Dannevirke,. r i has been appointed to succeed Constable. Hedley. Constable Wigmore, of Gisborne, fills a vacancy pending the appointment of a Sergeant <for this district .
