Two important news items for the week-end were the passing of the Neutrality Revision Bill by the Ame rican House of Representatives, and the announcement frm Norway that that country had interned the German prize crew of the American I steamer City of Flint. The lifting of the arms embargo by the United States Congress will enable the Allies to purchase arms and ammunU tion providing that they can pay for them and carry them in their own ships. Norway's action in interning the German prize crew of the City of Flint may provoke action by Germany although Norway was quite justified:
German press is now allowed to make reference to the British "White Paper. Nazi radio claims that H.M.S Kestrcll was torpedoed, Soviet-Fin-nisli talks proceeding -with Finland prepared to. conccde two-thirds of Russia's demands. Intense artillery action continues on the Western Front.
TUESDAY The various fronts have been quiet and submarine activity nil. Goebbels broadcasts to the effect that the Nazis are not afraid of the truth. Roumania takes the initiative in proposed Balkan Neutrality bloc. Spanish General, J)e Llano, declares liis belief that Germany will triumph. Expects Nazis to surprise Allies within a week or two.
Britain's rationing of butter and bacon to take effect after Christmas. Stalin attends Russo-Finn conversations which are proceeding in Moscow.
