Friends of Miss Rowena Stewart, who recently underwent a severe operation in the Whakatane Hospital will be glad to learn that she is now progressing well. The Hon. Adam Hamilton, Leader of the Opposition, together with sev eral prominent members of the National Party, visited the district last Saturday, and addressed supporters and members of Ihe party. At Edgecumbe a meeting too place at the residence of Mr and Mrs W. B. Gow, while in the evening Whakatane members met the official party in the County Chambers, where Mr Hamilton delivered a brief address. A statement handed to the press will appear in Wednesday's issue.
