WHAKATANE SURF CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING HELD

The annual meeting of the Whakatanc Surf Life-Saving Club was held on Wednesday evening. A statement of receipts and accounts was approved and the club recorded its appreciation of the action of the president in donating £5 towards the club funds. The past year was re-

viewed and confidence expressed in success for the present season. It was decided to write to Mr R. S. Baker, the retiring president, and acknowledging his services to the club. Several new members were nominated. Officers elected are as follows: —

Patron, Mr E. Runnerstrum: president, Mr A. G. Allan; vice-presi-dents, Messrs F. Mahv, P. Fenton, H. C. Alexander, F. Cutler, G. Kent, L. Lux ton,, H. E. Cueksey, C. McCready; secretary. Mr G. Usher; club captain, F. Wederell, v i c e captain, Mr H. Righton: instructor, Mr A. L. Rayncr; gear steward, Mr B. Dennehy; committee, president, secretary, club captain and Mr List; .honorary medical officers,, Drs E. T. Dawson, F. .T. Appleby and A. W. .Fletcher Cole.
