SECRETARY RETIRES
I.OSS TO INDUSTRY
Throughout the dairy industry there will be regret at the retirement of Mr T. C. Brash!. In one capacity or another Mr Brash has .served New Zealand dairying for close on fifty years and in his latter role as secretary to the New Zealand Dairy Board he performed wonderful service in the building up of that body's organisation. The knowledge and experience possessed 'toy Mr Brash has been of incalculable: benefit to the board.
Mr Brash's interest in the industry started when he was employed in a butter factory at Mosgiel in ISB9. In the same .year he was appointed manager of the Maketawa Co-op. Dairy Go's factory in Taranaki. After solving there for two years he joined the staff of the Dairy Division and worked as a grader and instructor for two years. In 1893 he was appointed to the position of manager of the Waveiiey Co-op. Dairy Co., then one of the larges'J dairy factories in New Zealand. He spent four years there and then joined the Kairanga Co-op. Dairy Co. J as its first manager. A short time c after that he was offered a position with Messrs J. B. MacEwan and Co., • with whom he stayed until his ap- . pointment with the National Dairy Association. After fourteen years with this organisation, he became - the general manager and developed •; the policy of importing direct from England, a policy which has been very largely responsible for the - great success that body has had in. efficiently serving the industry. ,> J Mr Brash was appointed the lirst^i^i/ secretary of the, Dairy Board retirement, announced fori will bfe keenly felt, - f ? r/ * ' . ».■ ' Vi -jb36Pj*
