WX GARDENING CIRCLE MEETS (i> jacon •rrespondenl) October gardening circle mooting oC the Waimana-Xukuhou Women's Institute was held at the home of Mrs C. Wvldc. Mrs John Addison presided over cjuile a good attendance, and Miss Stansburv read the minutes oi' the 'previous meeting,. There was a general discussion on the growing ol' numerous vegetair.es and shrill;:-;, some most useful hints being exchanged. A vegetable competition was Avon by Mrs Stevenson. The garden was quite trim and neat. The day's competitions were as follows: Best .1 lower, Mrs ICag'c- 1 (Lilac) Mrs Mitchell 2 (Iris), Mrs Woolfiekl 3. Best vegetables. Mrs Eagle 1 (Letluce), Mrs Wool field 2, Mrs Stevenson o . Jiowl of Marigolds, Miss Stansbury 1, Mrs A. K. Bell 2, Mrs Bert Hughes 3. Sweet peas, Mrs Wool.field 1 . A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the judges, Mrs F. Savage and Mrs f. Savage. A dainty afternoon tea was served by the hoslesses Mrs-Mitchell and Mrs Woolfield. The November meeting is to be held at Mrs Eagle's home. A vote of thanks to Mrs vide for the pleasant afternoon closed the meeting.
