gathering at awakeri On Saturday evening the 28th Oct ober the residents of the Awakeri district willh old a social and dance in the Awakeri Hall as a farewell function to Mr and Mrs Carllng and family who are shortly leaving for their new home. Mr Carling-* has been appointed Whakatane County Inspector and is sure to prove as popular in his new tion as he was in his capacity sis an official of the New Zealand Railways.
