FARMERS AND BUSINESSMEN TWO DETERMINED MEETINGS The opinion that tlie emergency powers assumed by the Government under the Marketing Amendnuv.it Act bore the cloak of .socialism was expressed by speakers at a special mass meeting of fanners held at Morrinsville on Thursday. A unanimous resolution of protest was passed, together with a demand that the legislation should be amended at the next session of Parliament. The determination to halt the socialisation of industry in New Zealand and to demand a modification of the Government's policy Avas voiced by a moss deputation to the Auckland Chamber of Commerce on the same day. The deputation was the largest ever received by the chamber, and avos representative of all sections of the business community.
