TROUT LIBERATION
BAY OF PLENTY AND RGTORUA
Numerous liberations over a wide area have been made by the Internal Affairs Department in Itotorua during the past few weeks, and it is expected that this work A\ill be finish-' ed within the next three weeks. It is already several wcks since stripping operations ceased. Liberationsinclude 100,000 in Lake Rofoiti, 80.000 in Rotoehu and HO,OOO in Lake Rotorua. In the Bay of Plenty, 2.10,000 will be liberated. It is expected that an order will be delivered to the Tauranga Acclimatisation Societ.y shortly. These liberations- have been from the Ngongotaha hatcheries; from the Waik:iremoana hatch ery, which will close Tor the season in a few days, 400,000 fry will be liberated next week.
