CROQUET

WHAKATANE CLUB OPENING The opening of the Whakatane Croquet Club took place last Saturday. The Mrs A. Shaw, welcomed the members and visitors, after which she played the first ball and declared the lawns open. Progressive croquet Avas played the Avinners being Mrs Graeo and Mrs Guest. Golf Mr s L. Ifunter. Kinging the Bell, Mrs Guest. Long shot, Mr.s A. ShaAV.

A dainty afternoon tea was served l)v the members in the pavilion.

Mrs T. Mitchell president of the Tancatiia Club, on behalf of the A'isitors thanked the ladies for the very pleasant afternoon spent.
