The story which wa-, given full credence by the public ? was that the British , Government haci resigned, and that King George VI had abdicated, The story was promptly denied by the British Government, and later corrected over the German radio. ; It is confidently believed in Britain i that the rumour was purposely circulated by the German authorities . as a further picce of propaganda.
LANDED IN NEUTRAL , COUNTRIES GERMAN PLANES LAND Reports from neutral countries indicate that a number of German planes have landed, and their crews have been interned. Two planes land cd iji Denmark, one in, while another is stated to have crashed iuto thi: sea off the coast of Denmark. The crew of a Norwegian coaster rescued the officers ofi another plane.. It is suggested that the planes i were engaged in a raid upon British • battleships in the North Sea. How- ; ever there have been no reports to indicate that this was so.
