SHIPS THAT PASS

The farewell evenings to the local recruits who during the past few weeks have left for camp have furnished immediate friends and relations with opportunities to wish these young men the best of luck and a safe return to the homeland from the great adventure for which they have volunteered. It is rather unfortunate however, that officially there has been no apparent effort to mark their departure from our midst. In the event of the contingent now entraining, being sent for service overseas, may it be a suggestion to the civic authorities that the citizens and country residents as a whole be furnished with some special occasion by which our men may be farewelled and a - forded some true .indication of the pride and satisfaction felt by their fellows at their action m taking up the cause of liberty and democracy.
