| A Bring and Buy stall conduetecl bv Mrs Kendall and Mrs Luxton proved a very popular attraction,, produce, flowers and tempting cakes being quickly snapped up by eager buyers. A pleasing feature ofi the afternoon was the presentation of a lea=thcr suitcase and leather writing ease to Nurse Strachan who after act ing as Plunket Nurse for nine years in the Whakatane district is leaving for Patea. Mrs Caisley. president of the Whakatane Plunket Society, spoke of! the excellent work done by Miss Strachant pointing out that that her district embraced not only Whakatane township but a large surrounding area, covering Rotorua, Qpotiki Taneatua and the Rangitaiki Plains. Mrs Caisley then called on Mrs F. SutclifTe. the foundation president o3 the Society to present Miss Strachan with the suitcase.

Mrs Thomas, on behalf of the Rangitaiki Plains Sub-Branch followed with the presentation o>f! a leather writing case.

Mrs Yeoman on behalf of the Taneatua Sub-Branch spoke warmly of the appreciation which ay as felt by v all for Miss Stracha,n and expressed the general wish of all present in hoping that the new district lo which she was going would give her its best supjjort.

Mesdames Prideaux, Daw son, Southey, Dixon and Miller dispensed a very enjoyable afternoon tea "which was served on the lawn.

The proceeds of the afternoon amounted to over £11 which will form a welcome addition to the existing funds.
