first" aid and home nursing CLASSES In connection with the recently formed Red Cross Society in Whakatane, the secretary, Mns Pearse. reports that there is now a mem*""/ of over 100 ladies ? and activities will commence on Tuesday (October 3rd) with the initiation of y home nursing classes, a week earlier .than announced previously. The •".lasses will be conducted in, the Lyceum Club rooms at 2 p.m. t!he lecturer being Mrs Prideaux.

Other classes will be held on Tues- , clay and Thursday evenings at 8"W o'clock in the King Street Hall where the lecturer .is Mrs Fletcher-* Cole.

First aid will be taken by the St. John's Ambulance Association oa Tuesday evenings at S o'clock in. the Borough Council Chambers,. The iecturer is Dr Fletcher Cole.
