WHAKATANE GATHERING

TALK ON FIJI

The monthly meeting of the League of Mothers was held in Knox Hall on Tuesday ivlternoon. There was a good attendance. After the business had been dealt with correspondence was read from the Mt Albert branch and our Scottish Link in Dalton. The latter described the great gathering from their 70'0 odd members to hear an address given by Miss A. Buchan on the aims and objects of the League. Mrs K. Schofield then sang two solos very charmingly "Our Treasure'' and "Little Grey Heine in, the West" and was warmly applauded.

Mrs F. Sutcliffe then gave ? very interesting talk on the life and work of the people of Fiji. She exhibited very many interesting samples o? tho'r a v ts and crafts, made mostly by wonvn. Afternoon t'-a served bv ->f the committee brought the afternoon to a close.
