BLACKBERRY RUNS RIOT
Noxious weeds were bad in certain parts of the county said Cr W. A. McCracken at Tuesday's meeting of the Whakatano County Council. There was bad gor.se on the Eastern Diain road. It was running riot on main (lax and he thought that the flax companies were the biggest defenders of blackberry in the Bay. "We'll have to get on to the companies," said the chairman, C l .' J. L. Burnett. The engineer, in his report, said that the ragwort schcmc would be out in hand shortly. Forty tons of lime had been ordered and nvxing started on Monday.
