RED CROSS SOCIETY
WHAKATANE SUB-CENTRE A Avell attended and very enthusiastic meeting of , those interested in the instructional courses was presided OA'er by Mrs W. SulliA'an in, the King Street Hall on Tuesday evening. Nearly eighty members were enrolled for the first aid and home nursing courses.
First aid will be taken by the St. John's Ambulance Association on Tuesday evenings at 8 o'clock in the. Borough Council Chambers. The lecturer is Dr Fletcher Cole and the classes commence on October 10.
Home nursing will be taken by the Red Cross Society on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at 2 o'clock in the Lj'ceum Club rooms the lecturer being Mrs F. Prideaux, and on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at St o'clock in the King Street Hall where the lecturer is Mrs Fletcher Cole, the classes to commence on October 10.
The committee's thanks are due to the Caledonian Society for its generous donation of £13 15s 6d to the Red Cross Funds.
