DRUNK-O-METER LEGAL IN INDIANA
The new traffic code in Indiana. U.S.A., embraces two additions to the statutes of vital importance to motoring. Indiana thu3 becomes the first State to legalise its use. The alcoholic contest of the blood, as determined by the drunk-o-meter hereafter will determine whether or not a driver is drunk. The charge of involuntary manslaughter governs the killing of a person during the commission of art unlawful act, the penalty for whicb is one to ten years. Reckless homicide was written into the statutes to provide for prosecution of drivers who kill while violating no low other than traffic codes. The new law provides for a maximum penalty of from one to five years in the penitentiary and a fine of £250 or both, or a penal farm senr tence of from 60 days to six months, and a fine of £25 or both.
