WEDDING BELLS
AKEROYD—JACKSON At St. John's Anglican Church on August sth, the marriage was solem- ; nised between Pauline Rosina, second daughter of Mr and Mis A. J. Jackson, of Raglan (late of T e Puke)and Herbert Laurence, second son of Mr and Mrs S. Ohope Beach Whakatane. Rev. Morseby officiated and Miss W. Harris played the wedding march. The bride who was given away by her father, wore a gown of chenella spotted chiffon with rat-dice collar. The gown was cut on Empire lines and fell to form a long circular train. The ivory tulle veil which was worn over the bride's face as she entered the churchy was caught to the* head with a coronet of orange blossom and lilfies. She carried a sheathi of lillies. She- was attended .by Miss Maisip Jackson, sister of the?bride, and Miss Kathleen Phelps (Tauranga). Both, wore picture frocks of lacquered net* which fell in full stiff folds over a foundation of stiffened in blue and pink respectively. The'/ wore circular veils and topnots of flowers, and carried sheaths of iris and maiden hair fern. Two little flower girls, Elaine John ston (Whakatane), niece of the bridei groom and Colleen Shearer, were in attendance. They were dressed alika in picture frocks of stiffened net over taffeta, blue and pink with headdresses of flowers and net. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Gilbert Akeroyd (Te Kuiti) as best man, and Mr H. Sparks as groomsman. Ushers at the church were Mr L. Roberts and Mr E. Capon Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Broadway Tearooms. The guests were received by Mr and Mrs Jackson, the latter wearing a model frock of navy woollen cloque and accessories to match, anrt carrying a bouquet of violets and maiden hair fern. The bridegroom's mother wore a frock of Burgundy crepe de soi and fox fur with accessories to match. Her bouquet was cf roses and maiden hair fern. The bride and bridegroom left for a tour of the North Island by car, the bride travelling in a caprice rf»>e costume with brown aecesspjriesj, and a fur stole, a gift from, bridegroom. . :;| f /. V -
