APPEAL FOR MEMBERS

RED CROSS NEEDS STRONG WHAKATANE BRANCH Ninety ladies in the Whakatane distrjet have already signified their willingness to become members of the Red Cross Society, the objectives of which are set out in, another col. umn. It is the endeavour of the branch to enlist as many members as possible in order that the organisation will be as strong as possible and ready at all times to meet a national emergency. A subscription, of 2s 6d is required and members who have not as yet paid this in to the secrecy, Mrs D. Pearse, are requested to do so immediately. It is also honed that every member will make it their responsibility to enlist two new members in order to strengthen the branch. , ■ : Meetings will be held in the Lyceum Club's rooms which have been placed at the disposal of the organisation for meetings, lecture.?, etc.
