EAST COAST ROUTE
PASSING THROUGH TOWN MONSTER PETITION FRAMED With a view to demonstrating the widespread desire of the people of Whakatane to bring the proposed new East Coast access road through tlie town a monster petition has been launched, and is being signed by all residents in town and district. The petition when completed will be for. warded on to Mr A. G. Hultquist, M.P.. for presentation to the Min-> ister. It is anticipated that something like two thousand signatories will ■ append their names before the list "is closed. Those who have not yet . signed are asked to make a point of doing so in order to indicate the strength of public opinion on this matter. Enquiries may Bbf made at A. J. Canning and Coy.
