-■ PRINCIPLE AFFIRMED • MOTION' TO : SUPPLIERS Affirmation of the principle of the guaranteed price was. given bj' the meeting, of : suppliers to the Te ArohacThames Valley Go-operative!: Dairy Company on Saturday. The attitude of the directors of tlie company towards the price was defined by the chairman, who said that it alTorded the suppliers a cer- < a.in measure of support. The question of the rate payment, however, was a point for difference. "Whether the costs of production are covered is a debateable question.;"- continued Mr Courtney. "Last year the Government saw ilt to pay out less than the committee recommended, in spite of the fact that evidence wh'ch was brought before the committee convinced even the Government nominees that the price should have been higher.'' The opinion that it was only just that the Government should increase the price to cover the additional costs incurred th : s year was expressed bv some suppliers, and this contention was supported by . Mr H. M. Corbett. When the motion was put to the meeting there was only.one dissentient.
