HAMILTON SALE The Mariners' Co-operative Auction cering Co. Ltd. report:— Sheep: There was a large yarding of prime quality ewe and wether mutton at Frankton on Tuesday and the usual entry of and unfinished sheep, but generally the quality of- the yarding was a, big im provement on recent sales. Prime wethcirs sold freely, values befng firm at late rates, and in some cases showing a hardening tendency. Several pens of prime fat ewes met fivith steady competition and sold readily while a good offering of fat hoggets again realised schedule rates A small entry of store hoggets were readily absorbed at unchanged values Cattle:. Competition was not ns keen as last week "for a full yarding of ox beef and prices generally slioav. Ed an easing tendency. There was a full entry of cow and heifer beef, 'including a fair proportion of prime cattle, and values in this section remained very firm. A full yarding of runners and vealers were easier of sale although vendors, in most cases met the market. Values for an aver, age yarding of boner cows were in excess of schedule rates. . Pigs: A large yarding of fat pigs came forward, but values for baconcrs were hardly as good as last week Prices for porkers and buttermilk pigs remained firm. Stores were yarded in more than average numbers and prices remained firm at Into nates.
