Union executive on Tuesday night it was reported that verbal contact had been, made with members of the executive, by the secretary of the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union Mr \V. S. Henderson, over the proposed conference between interested parties on the subject of the improvement of Maori football, but the matter would be discussed more fully at the next meeting of the executive. Al the same time the committee would consider the question of appointing the curtain raiser to the Fijian match, as well as possible grants to the Primary Schools' Association for their ■ tournament and the Waikite Footbal] Club for their trip to Rua. toki. So 'fa,r as the Fijian match was said Mr Henderson, the Bay of Plenty Union had -requested the New Zealand Rugby Union to change the team to play the visiters from a Bay of Plenty Maori team to a Bay of Plenty representative, team, as had been requested in the first place. POSITION AT RUATOKI. Mr Dixon reported verbally on a meeting with Mr Henderson at Tauranga on' Saturday; when the question .of a change in the status of Ruatoki had been discussed.; ■; Sir Henderson had pointed out that much had been done for Ruatoki as it was, while on the part of Rotorua Mr Dixon and Mr Clarke had made it clear that the suggestion to form a separate sub-union had come, not from Rotorua, but from Ruatoki itself.
