Offenders from whakatane William Donovan, pleaded guilty to the theft of £4from the occupant of a rcojn in a boardinghouse when he.appeared in the Taura'nga police court on Monday. Sergeant Edwards advised that Donovan, came from W4iakatane and booked in at a local boardinghouse. He, was given a room to share with another occupant, and took the nionev from a roll of notes after his -oom mate went out. Defendant did •lot have a good reputation at Wha. katanc. Donovan, atZed 17, stated he left lis home at Ashburton, South Inland two years ago. He expected to iind in Tauranga. The bench convicted and fined 'n'm £2, in default seven days' imprisonment; also recommending that, '""i; father be notified of the position .
