WHAT A LIFE
Have 3*oll ever thought of the work entailed in the production of a period film in order to give it the necessary authenticity which, if ove the eagl.- eye of the film-goer will immediately spot. Here are just a few of the difficulties which faced Ivor McLaren prior to the production of the war drama, "Who Goes Next?' starring Barry K. Barne.s and Sophie Stewart. He had to procure /twenty-throe, year-old posters for the underground railway stat'on. He had to get suitable street hoarding posters. He h-ul to scour London for nearly two hundred dated English and German rifles. He had to guard against and take every precaution to see that no member of the unit or cast got caught up in the barbed wire entanglements. Last bu>t not least, lie had to superintend the engineering of a dug-out collap.se without injury to the artists concerned.
