GRATEFUL FATHER

PRAISE FOR HOSPITAL STAFF DAUGHTER'S LIFE SAVED Tlie kind of letter that hospital boards like to receive was tabled at the last meeting of the Bay of Plenty Hospital Board ? Whakatane. Written by a Avcll-known Whakatane man/ it praised the efficiency of the board's mcdical staff, to which the writer was .sure he owed the life of h'.s small daughter. The letter reads:— "I desire to express to your board the appreciation, and gratitude my wife and I feel towards your medical superintendent and the matron of the hospital. We were unfortunate to have our wee daughter enter your institution but consider now it most fortunate it was the Whakatane Hospital as we feel certain that at no other place would she have received better attention. That she was spar* ed to us is undoubtedly the result of the untiring efforts of Doctor'Dawson and Matron Gribben. Our thanks arc also due to Sister Collins and in fact all the Nursing staff for the willing attention given to our daughter. "I might add that during my frequent visits to the hospital I conversed with the patients and without exception I heard nothing but praise for the attention given them, one elderly lady informing me that she had always a dread of entering a hospital but her experience with the local institution gave her the confidence to return immediately if necessary. An unsolicited testimonial. "I trust sir that Doctor Dawson, matron and sisters are for a long time to come the administers of alleviation of suffering to the now fortunate residents of Whakatane."
