WHAKATANE SUB.UNION ARRANGEMENT FOR SATURDAY The manageemnt committee or the Whakatane Rugby S.ub-Un,ion held-its fortnightly meeting on Tuesday night in the Grand Tea Rooms, WhakaI tane, those present being the chair- ! man, Mr W. S. Henderson, the secretary Mr iF*. Peebles, and Messrs J. Conolly, J. T. White (Whakatane), J. Hohapata (Paroa), I. Tunui (Poroporo), J. Brown (Waimana) y T. Gee, W T . Sisam (Taneatua), 1.. Ormond (Referees). It was decided to give £-5 to the Whakatane Primary Schools Association towards the cost of participation in the tournament at Rotorus* though Mr Henderson pointed out that the Rotorua Primary Schools As-* sociation had a credit of £50 which included a grant from the New Zea„ land Union for the purpose of enter, tainment assembling teams and tra-* veiling expenses. Arrangements for Saturday's games at Te Teko against Ran.gitaiki \vert» discussed. Mr White reported that arrangements had been made to • transport the junior teams. It was decided t» engage a bus to leave Whakatane at 12.30 p.m. to take the Senior and Senior B representatives. Managers were appointed as fol* lows: Juniors, at Western Drain roait ground, Messrs J. T. White, L. Or. mond, H. Mita. Senior B y J. Hohapata, W. Sisam. Seniors, W. SHenderson, J. Reardon. Because there are other l senior fixtures to be played on the Domain on July 29 it was not considered possible to allot Paroa more than half tbe gate to meet the cost of its matcb with the Thames team. The games on that clay will be: No. 1L ground, 2.45 Thames v Paroa; No. 2 ground, , 2.45 Taneatua v Poroporo; No. I ground 1.30 Whakatane v Buccaneers. Juniors. No. 2 ground 1.3(> A and B trial. Thirds. Taneatua v Whakatane, Old Boys v Scouts. The representative team will train next Thursday, and on Tuesday anrt Thursday of the following week. It was decided to ask the Whakatane Club for the use of "the anil to ask Messrs St George, L,. Preston and F. Wederell to coach the team.
