WHAK ATANE EXHIBITORS j ' | AUCKLAND SHOW SUCCESSES The first Auckland championship special .show held by the Auckland . Poultry, Pigeon and Cage Bird Club which was held on Friday and Saturday last at the Epsom showgrounds catered for winning birds of district shows. There were more than 300 entries and the quality was such thai, the judges had difficulty in sc'ecting the prize winners. Whakatane exhibitors gained successes as follows: FANCY POULTRY. Game—Duckwing Hen: G. Booth. UTILITY POULTRY Leghorns: White Cock, R. F. Smith 1. Black Orpington Cockerel, R. F. Smith 1. Black Orpington Pullet W. R. Hanham 1. Australorps cock, G. Booth 1. Australorps cockerel, W.R Hanham 3. WHITE BUTTERFLIES The sight of white butterflies in mid_wlnter is evidence of the extremely mild weather Christchurch ha,s experienced so far. In a garden in St Albans two were seen exploring some brussels sprouts,, a sight which, does not augur well fpr the spring.
