Whakatane nien*s doubles were 4he onlj' wins that Whakatane had t while Whakatane found the Tauranga ladies rather too well matched and in the Combines Whakatane found their lack of team practice together, a definite handicap. Tauranga played very well, and deserved their win of nine matches to three. Results, with Tauranga players first:—Ladies: Misses Dixon and Anderson beat Mrs Cato and Miss Blythe 21-lo; Miss Alley and Bartleet beat Miss Woolliams and Miss Jacombs 21-8; Miss Alley and Bartleet beat Mrs Cato and Miss Blythe 21-8; Miss Dixon and Anderson beat Miss Wol_ liams and Miss Jacombs 21-7. Men: Gammon and Tanner lost to Wilson and Timbs 18-21; Anderson and Foster lost to Young and Howat IS-21; Anderson and Foster lost to Wilson and Timbs 5.2T; Gammon and Tanner beat Young and Hownt 8.21 . Combines: Miss Dixon and Gammon beat Mrs Cato and E. Wilson 21-2: Miss Anderson and Anderson beat Miss Jacombs and Timbs 21-9: M ! ss - Alley and poster beat Miss WooriTcmis and Young 21.15; Miss Bartleet and Tanner beat Miss Blythe and Howat 21.18.
