Mr Burgess then vacated the chair and informed the meeting that he would not stand for re.eleetion. On nominations being callcd by the secretary for the o;fl;ice of president Mr. C ; ,.<F. Ejvers Ayas proposed by Mr D . ; Macdonald ,and seconded by Mr Iv. A, Haultain[This being the only nomination Mr Eiyers was elected unanittiqusly. Mr .'Eivers- spoke,,of Mr Burgess' rbilitv and assistance rendered to the club by him a,nd ,hoped that he would still continue his association Avi'th the club. Election of officers resulted as foL lows:—^Patron: Mrs T. B. Dunderdale; vice-presidents: Messrs D. Mac. Donald and 11, Glen; referees: C. F. Eivers and W. Howat; handicapper: :D,-. Macdonald;. secretary: J. B. Thomas. . . . The president and secretary wer-e ■instructed to go' into the matter of purchasing a new trap. It was decided to hold a shoot on Sunday, July 9. A very attractive programme lias been approved of which full details will be advertised later. The club are providing free luncheon to all shooters, and extend a hearty welcome to all interested in. this fine sport. TRUCK OVER BANK After turning over twice a Bay of Plenty Power Board truck, driven by Mr X. Guide Whakatane, with Mr E. Morey, Whakatane. as a passenger, came to resit about ten or fifteen feet below the; road in the WaiihVuia Gorge ori [Monday. The driver escaped injury but Mr Morey was striick on the head though not seriously hurt.
