SAFE BREAKERS The men who are handling picks and crowbars in the demolition of tho concrete foundations and strongroom of the Union Bank in Whale ata no must have acquired >a distas'te for the public's idea of wit over the last few days. Strong men and all, they probably winced and held back their tears with difficulty when the 176 th pass-er-by stopped and watched them breaking down the concrete round the safe door. ;and threatened to tell the policc unless a share of the swag was handed over. No doubt thev were glad yesterday to get inside the strongroom and work there free J from caustic comments.
