| CARNIVAL DANCE BASKETBALL CLUB'S EFFORT (Beacon Correspondent) The Waimana Hall was the scene of a most enjoyable carnival dance last Thursday evening. The function being held under the auspices of the Waimana Basketball Club. The weather was not the best, but dancers were present from far and near. The stage was tastefully decorated with bowls of autumn leaves and berries and balloons were suspended from the ceiling of the hall. Excellent dance music was played by McDougall's Hot Scots' Orchestra, and Mr M. Burke obliged with an extra. The duty of M. C. was most capably carried out by Miss M. Fleming and Mr R. Morton acted as doorkeeper. The balloons, streamers, confetti and paper hats caused much merriment during the evening. The Monte Carlo Waltz was won by Miss R. Hughes and Mr H. Spanhake, the ''Statue Log Cabin v by Miss J. Grover and partner and the lucky hats were won by Mrs W. Bell and Mr J. Perfect. 1 A dinner for competition was wore by Mr J. Rvan. " A' most delicious supper was served by the ladies and thoroughly enjoyed by all. Dancing continued till a late hour and the National Anthem closed a most successful evening.
