o NEW BOOSTER PUMP INSTALLED BY BOROUGH A ''Boothmac" booster pump -witlx a capacity of about GOO gallons an hour, has now been installed to serve the needs of Hillcrest residents. Supplied by Cutlers Hardware Ltd, the pump was installed by that firni's staff, the wiring being carried out by the borough electrical staff. The job took about two days. The pump works automatically, delivering the water into a 100 gallon steel cylinder from which it gravitates to the tanjks in the different houses at about lOOlbs pressure. Immediately the tanks fill valves close, and the pressure automatically in the which is controlled by a pressure switch. This automatically cuts off the motor when the cylinder is filled. The pump is designed to lift up to 500 feet, and thus it will be possible to fill the projected reservoir on the* waterworks reserve a!t Hillcrest with J it. Its capacity of bOO gallons an hour will be ample to fill the reservoir and maintain its level. Yesterday the electrical engineer's staff were engaged in replacing thesections of line on the Taneatua rovl which have been moved owing to road reconstruction.
