: —o BRIDE-TO-BE HONOURED POPULAR LADY MEMBER On .Wednesday last a pleasant afternoon was spent at the Whakatane Golf Club links when members and friends associated with the club combined in promoting a, social afternoon to Miss F. Bell, in view of her approaching marriage. After a four-ball match Mrs Bullard the Club Captain expressed the feeling of all present bv saying how much the club valued the services of Mis s Bell in matters connected with the executive. For maaiy years sre had been a member of the committee and during the four years she had acted as secretary she had given liberally of her time and energy. Iff yet another capacity she had acted as Club Captain. In presenting the guest of honour with a silver tea service Mrs Billiard asked Miss Bell to accept the gift as a token of appreciation from members past and present, together with their very best ■.visiles for her future happiness. Mrs .Luxton.also expressed -appreciation, of the men's committee. Miss Bell suitably replied, and after the singing of "For She's a, Jolly Good Fellow,"' afternoon tea was ?erved.
