SCOUT ACTIVITIES
REHEARSAL FOR CENTENNIAL
BAY OF PLENTY MAORI TROOPS
During the forthcoming week-end the M?ori Boy Scouts of the Whakatane district will co-operate with the Maketu troop, members of which wiil oe travelling through on Friday night and staying at the Poroporo meetinghouse till the following Monday morning for the purpose of practising their display work to be given at the Centennial Scout Jamboree at Wellington. All Maori Scouts of the Tameatua, Whakatane, Onepu ( Paroa and Poroporo troops a,re asked to attend . The visitors will be entertained during their stay by the Paroa an.l Poroporo Troops. It is hoped to be able to give them as good a time as given our local boys' a few weeks at Maketu-. <On Sunday all scouts of the district are asked to attend a parade &t 10 a.m. and in the afternoon parents and mcmber s of the public are invited to pay the boys a visit when they will be entertained with items from the display. On Saturday afternoon Maketu will play Paroa-Poroporo Troops foot ball in the Domain which is causing great excitement as when the last game was played at Maketu our local bovs were unable to gain the honours The District Commissioner Mr F. H. Christian is hoping to attend the camp during the week-end.
