PLAY READERS BUSY

SEASQN OPENED The ladies of the Lyceum Club irf the Play Reading Circle started their season on Monday evening by reading three one act plays. The following plays were read and; acted: ''The Backway/' by J. L. Hodson., The cast was: Thomas Grime. Mis 3 * D. Harding; Richard Grime, Mrs D. Pearse; Ruth, Mrs P. Sisam; Haroirl Potter, Mrs Riddle; Jane, Mrs List;! Annie Mrs C. C. Southey: Peggy Marshall, Miss D. BoonThe next play Mas "Peace in Our Time" by M. and S. Box. The cast was: Eva, Mrs Appleby: Lady Crosby Mrs Keir; Averil, Mrs Littlejohn; Olga Mrs Otley; Matu Kuoshi, Mrs Warner; Maisie Easton, Mrs Pearse; Emily, Mrs E. Armstrong: The Woman in Blacky Mrs J. Conoily. The other play was called "The* Man With a Cane'* by G. Dearmer. Those in it were: Woodfull, Miss HoW ell; Mrs Dawson; Mawenstein, Mrs Riddle: Miss Mawenstein. Miss Greenup; Maid, Mrs Thomas. After the readings supper was served by the readers. Also present were, Mrs R. Boon, Mrs G. Booth, Misses M. Whiteside T M. Dell, D. Boon, A. Clarke, Mulliii and N. Carlyon.
